An Early Childhood Education Professional - 1004 Words

Autobiography On November 1st, 1995, the Palm Beach Post published a front page story about Bill Clinton’s latest remarks in a Whitehouse press conference. However, what the Palm Beach Post didn’t publish, and consequently what most of the county didn’t see that morning, was the fact that I was born. As an individual and an educator, in the next five years, I aspire to have been at my school and in my long term classroom for at least 3 years, have a developed and well practice filing system of observations and assessment records, a fool proof method for grading, a knack for detailed and daily lesson planning, as well as having an established parent conferencing style. Competency Goal #2 In the course of establishing a developmentally appropriate classroom for learning with healthy and respected students, there are several things I will and must do. In chief, there will be two things that I will have the utmost concern for in my future classroom: child safety and respectful behavior. Within the pursuit of a healthy environment, it is clear that the well-being of students comes as a tangent to having their attention for learning. On this token, establishing a healthy classroom must be systemically established by systematic rules. For example, it will be an immediate priority to search for, remove, and replace when possible materials in my classroom that are sharp, easily swallowable, too heavy, too disruptive, and/or too toxic for children to exercise necessary caution around. Similarly, maintaining classroom cleanliness is another key goal. As for the risks, children that are in messy classrooms risk slips and falls around untidied, areas as well a s unnecessary exposure to germs. What Is The Status Of Liberty Is It - 958 Words

Manleen Singh October 6th, 2014 Question 2: What is the status of liberty in Hobbes’ argument? What kind of liberty is it? According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, liberty is defined as, â€Å"the state or condition of people who are able to act and speak freely (Merriam-Webster).† Very similarly, In the Leviathan, Thomas Hobbes defines liberty as a man who can act freely. It is significant to note however that Hobbes’ definition of theory is not stagnant. Hobbes’ theory of liberty changes under a sovereign (state of society) and he rejects the existence of true liberty in a state of nature (no ruler). Thus, he only defines liberty in a state of society and defines it as the ability to act according to one’s will without being physically hindered from performing that act (Harrington, 2005). More specifically, this form of liberty that is explained by Hobbes is negative liberty, which Merriam Webster dictionary defines as freedom from intrusion by exogenous forces. Negative liberty principally deals with freedom from external limitation in the Leviathan (Harrington, 2005). According to Hobbes, the status of liberty is contingent upon the existence of a ruler. Under a sovereign leader all subjects have absolute liberty. Hobbes says that subjects are completely free because the only chains restraining them are laws passed by the ruler and the social contract, which to both they prescribed powers and willingly gave up rights to for security.). We will write a custom essay sample on Things Fall Apart Authors purpose or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page In Achebes novel, after defeating the great wrestler, Amalinze the Cat, the tragic hero, Okonkwo gains much respect throughout each of the nine villages of Umoufla (Achebe 3); he feels a renowned sense of pride. Okonkwos pride ultimately causes his downfall. Achebe expresses Okonkwo as one of the greatest men of his time (Achebe 6). All while indulging his already great honors, Okonkwo continues to gain a prestigious manly reputation. He was a man of action, a man of war as described by Achebe (Achebe 9). Okonkwos stature lead to his narcissistic opposition, which consequently becomes the most common type of tragic flaw; arrogance resulting from excessive pride (Handbook of Literary Terms). In return, Okonkwos flaw triggers numerous aversions towards the changing Igbo culture. As the story unfolds Okonkwo fails to tolerate the newly prevailed traditions, bringing him to mourn the loss of the past, such as him feeling that he has lost his manly reputation (Chua 90). Sadly, Okonkwo is flamed with anger. After meeting the sweet-tongued messenger who invited him to the meeting with the District Commissioner, Okonkwos anger engulfs him, causing him to kill the messenger in hopes of restoring his faded repute throughout the villages (Achebe 140). As Achebe continues to portray his story, he generates an abrupt disappointment for Okonkwo, when he soon realizes the villagers no longer support him. Lorenzo Colbert Jr. Essays (637 words) - Americas, Structure

Lorenzo Colbert Jr. Speech Writing Assignment #1 Red Cross The emotions that I am experiencing after listening to the broadcast are confusion and frustration. I feel confused because the Red Cross is supposed to be an organization that is non-profitable. The confusion rises when I think of exactly where the money actually went. I am frustrated because we as a people look to Red Cross to assist us when needed not take advantage. It doesn't make sense how you take all of that money yet continue to let those in Haiti suffer and wait on the assistance the promised. The reporter sounded very credible. She provided endless facts to back up every statement she made. She also has used voice recordings to make her argument more trustworthy. I feel as if she knows exactly what she is discussing and has done an extensive amount of research. I can tell that she has dug deep to get the information about this faulty organization. The Red Cross spokesperson did not sound credible whatsoever. The spokesperson could not answer questions directly and deflected them with ease. The spokesperson also went in circles to answer questions so they would not s lip up and say the wrong thing on recordings. For the spokesperson to be a part of Red Cross, they did not sound very concerned about the ongoing issues in Haiti. The spokesperson only could revert back to one thing to support their end of the argument. The most disturbing thing to me about the broadcast was the information that Red Cross was withholding. Even though there were facts proving that they did not do what they said they would do, they were still in denial of what they were being accused. I can't believe that they would knowingly still let the people of Haiti suffer when they have more than enough resources to help. If Red Cross is not being truthful about what they say they are going to do, then what and who else are these non-profit organizations hiding from us. Based off what I heard from the broadcast, non-profit organizations are full of lies. They are manipulative and they deceive you into thinking they are for the greater good. They will take your money in surplus and only do enough to get the media attention then they will take the rest of the money for themselves. They don't have our best interest at heart at all. My knowledge of Red Cross has never been much but that they have been assisting people for a long time now. What I already knew and believed was that they were an organization that sticks their necks out for people in need of assistance. But after hearing the broadcast, I now know that it all just a disguise to acquire more money. Red Cross takes from people who would give their last to help others in need and doesn't use your money for what you intended on it going to. A. I will tell everyone I know who cares about assisting others. I would also inform everyone who donates to these non-profit organizations so they can know exactly what goes on behind closed doors. I'm willing to tell anyone with a heart and who cares. B. I would tell them because people need to become aware of what's really going on in our corrupt society. They also have the right to know where their money is actually going and not going. Information like this should not be shadowed and should be out for the world to see clear as day. C. The answer is self-explainable. People should know when they are being ripped off. Especially by the people they are actually putting their trust into.

Five Reasons Why Your Writing Matters (Even if No-One Will Take You Seriously)

Five Reasons Why Your Writing Matters (Even if No-One Will Take You Seriously) Five Reasons Why Your Writing Matters (Even if No-One Will Take You Seriously) Five Reasons Why Your Writing Matters (Even if No-One Will Take You Seriously) By Ali Hale Do you ever think about giving up writing? You’ve been working on a novel, but you’re afraid it’s never going to be good enough. Your short stories never win competitions. Your poetry hasn’t been published. Even your blog only has a handful of readers. It’s easy to feel disheartened – especially if you don’t have much support from friends or family. Perhaps your partner just doesn’t get writing, or your friends tease you about it. Don’t give up. Your writing does matter. Even if you’ve never shown a piece of your work to anyone, even if you know that publication is a distant dream, it’s still worth writing. Here’s why. #1: It’s Not Just a Hobby Non-writers often think that writing is some casual hobby – and not a very productive one at that. After all, you might sweat for days on a story, and it still might not get published. If you took up knitting instead, you’d at least have a lumpy scarf or a pair of socks to show for your effort. Writing isn’t just a hobby, though. It’s a calling. Writers don’t pick up the pen (or turn to the keyboard) because they’re bored – they do it because they feel compelled to put their thoughts down on the page. Your writing is part of who you are, and it’s not something to take lightly. If you want to make sure your writing is more than just a hobby, read 7 Habits of Serious Writers. #2: Your Writing Can Outlive You We’re all going to die one day. Of course, memories live on – but eventually, there’ll be no-one alive who ever knew you. Your writing may well outlive you. Perhaps you’ve not got an audience for your memoir right now but it could be an incredible treasure for your great-great-grandchildren. And if you’re a poet, playwright or novelist, you might find that your work lives on long after your death. Just think of Chaucer, Shakespeare and Dickens. Your name could be one that every school child knows in three hundred years’ time. Want to write your life story and get it published? Start with Are You Writing a Memoir? #3: You Can Change Lives Most of us have a pretty small circle of influence: family, friends, colleagues, our local community. Writing, though, lets us reach across the world. If you have a blog – even a blog with ten readers – you’re touching other people’s lives. It always makes my day when I get an email or comment telling me how much one of my blog posts meant to someone. Often, I’ll hear â€Å"this came at just the right time for me†. Your writing could change someone’s life, by opening up new possibilities for them, by teaching them something new, or simply by giving them an experience that they wouldn’t otherwise have had. If you want to start reaching more people, read Aren’t You Blogging Yet? #4: Self-Expression is Important If I don’t exercise, I get cranky – and if I don’t write, I get cranky too. I do some of my best thinking with a pen in my hand, or with a keyboard under my fingers – and I’d bet that you do too. Being able to get things off your chest and onto the page can be extremely therapeutic – more so than simply talking about problems. The contents of your journal might be ephemeral but the act of writing it might be crucial for your well-being. Fiction or poetry can also be a crucial outlet, letting you explore emotions and ideas, and bring structure to them. Not sure what to write about today? Try Writing Prompts 101. #5: You’re Improving with Every Word You Write Perhaps you’re tempted to give up writing because you’re not good enough. Perhaps you’ve had nasty comments on your blog, or you’ve sent off your short stories again and again, meeting with rejection each time. Maybe you’re worried about how to find a literary agent. Even if you’re not quite there yet, you’re learning and improving all the time. Every single word you write helps you to hone your craft and take your skills further – especially if you’re actively seeking to learn new techniques. If you give up now, you’ll never know what you might have been capable of. Take your writing to the next level with The Basic English Grammar Book and 100 Writing Mistakes to Avoid. Where Next for Your Writing? I know life is busy, and that it’s hard to find the time and energy to write. But I’d encourage you to set aside just an hour this week to focus on your writing. If you’ve been reading a lot about writing without actually doing much, then now’s the time to change that. If you want others to take you seriously, it’s vital that you take your writing seriously. That might mean joining a group, enrolling on a course, or simply committing more time to your writing. What will you do, this week, to make your writing a more important part of your life? Are our zoos cruel to wild animals Essay Example for Free

Are our zoos cruel to wild animals Essay Zoos are places that often visited by the people for recreation, moreover for the family who has child. They can find many kinds of animal, without going to the wild forest. Zoos can make the visitors happy, but it might not be the same condition as the wild animal’s feeling. I trust that zoos are cruel to the faunas. Numeruous people think that zoos are good for the wild animals. Keeping animals in the zoos can save the animals from extinction than let them free in their habitat. In their wild habitat, the animal might be killed by their enemies. If they live in the zoo, they could not be killed by their predators because they live in each cage. In addition, they also think that not all of the zoo are cruel to the wild animal because some of them have standart operational procedures how to protect animal in the zoos, for example is Safari Park Zoos, the biggest zoos in Indonesia. On the other hand, there are some reasons that can explain why zoos are cruel to the animals. First of all, zoos are not condusive for wild animal’s life. They should live in their free habitat. They could feel bored with the limited place that is available in the zoo. Also they cannot interact with the other animals. It can make them feel depressed. If the faunas feel uncomfortable with their habitat, they cannot reproduce well. So, their offspring will be stopped and the wild animals will be extinct. Except that, the zookeepers also make some mistakes. The zookeepers usually does not take care of the animals. They does not give the suitable food for the animals, does not keep the animals clean, and does not give the good treatment for the animals which are getting sick. The zookeeper sometimes exploitate the animals for their commercial aims. They do not care with their condition. Perhaps the wild animal is already tired, but the zookeeper still force them to entertain the visitors. The examples are elephant and dolphin which work hard for entertainment events in the zoo. All in all, it requires the zoos management to improve their ability in managing the zoos. They can decorate the zoos as similar as possible to their natural habitat. They also should make training for the zookepers. So, they can give the better treatment for the animals. Are our zoos cruel to wild animals. (2016, Apr 02).

During the 1800's the 'pony couriers', a means of transportation as well as communication, influenced the history of transportation in America. In order to appreciate the changes in transportation during that period, it is necessary to analyze the process under the then prevailing circumstances, and gain an understanding of transportation methods and processes back then. A careful analysis of the newspapers of this period in the history provides glimpses of the status of transportations prevailed in those times. In America, transportation in the sea and waterways was already quite developed between 1800 and 1810. The use of steam boats started between 1800 and 1810. ... Transportation of the agricultural and industrial commodities strengthened the economy of the country. Within few years steam boar services grown very fast, catering to the development of the economy, and a news article is given below. Natchiz, Jan 2: Important Arrival - Arrived here on Monday last, the Steam-Boat from Pittsburgh which had as a regular trader She was only 921 hours underway from Pittsburgh to this place a distance of near two thousand miles."1 Before then, only the inland methods of transportation, like horses, mules and asses which remained primitive because of their slow pace of technological development, that Americans relied upon. Animals like horses, mules and asses were the means of transportation before 1800.This change in the mode of transportation enabled Americans to move from place to place more conveniently than they could before 1800. During the 1800's it was normal to come across the advertisements in newspapers, a sample of which is given below, for trading in horses. "A Mare and Horse for Sale, Classified Ad 4"2 Another change in the mode of transportation between 1800 and 1810 was the commencement of the use of Public ferries. Adverts like the one below were to be regularly seen in the newspapers then. "Be it ordained by the Mayor, Aldermen, Common Council, and Freemen of the City of Hartford, That if any person shall willfully, or negligently, ride or drive any kind of Carriage, or Vehicle, or ride, lead, or drive any horse upon any Side Walk in laid City, now laid out, or hereafter to be laid out, unless for the purpose of necessarily... and to pay to such party just damages."3 "The port cities and ferry places were active with import and export of cargo of various types. Theology - Case Study Example Even though, I understand that this is a matter which people need to decide for themselves, I am a little troubled that this point of view was not even regarded to be significant. In my view, it calls into question the value of the notes as it is tough to envision going through the Bible separated from Gods authority and influence on the world. It is an excellent counterpart to the NIV version of the bible, which offers a reader a more religious perspective, for instance offering proof that Timothy was composed by one person derived from similarities in the text all through (Meeks 1750). Again, a person must make up their own mind, but the NIV version does grant both viewpoints. A person would want to know more concerning the historical information, as well as a peep into what the new texts must say. However, for studying Gods will for man, as well as how to establish a closer relationship with Him, I would advise people to go through the NIV version of the Bible than

Defining Identity Essay -- Personal Narrative, Identity Essays

There are millions of words across the globe that are used to describe people and uncover their identity, but what is identity? How can you begin to describe something that varies so greatly from one human being to another? Can you create a universal meaning for a word describing human concepts that people often fail to define for themselves? Of course there isn't one definition to define such a word. It is an intricate aspect of human nature, and it has a definition just as complex. Webster's dictionary describes identity as sameness of essential character, individuality, or the fact of being the same person as one claims to be. So your identity can include your name, your age, your job title, or simply characteristics of your body. These things are facts, facts you don't care to share with the world. Just as the word suggests your identity is something by which you can be identified. These are things that describe a person in terms a stranger would understand. This area of identity is proof of who you are. However, your identity is also composed of what you are. They mark your role in society. Who you are and what you do make up your identity. This is essential in the human life span because people are always searching to find where they truly belong in the world. Obviously a word that has such a deep meaning can?t have a shallow definition. The other component of identity is one?s personality. Your thoughts, emotions, and attitudes also have a huge impact on your identity. This part is not something the world can hold to be true, but something you know to be true. This portion of your identity is not something that you have passively acquired, it is something you have experienced and built upon through... ...can go through an entire lifetime and not really know how to define their own identity. In many cases people suffer through a great crisis to discover who they really are. If someone doesn?t know the meaning of their own identity, how can society apply a definition to the word? It leaves people to ponder whether or not there are some feelings and parts of life that simply cannot be explained. When defining the word identity scholars and common men alike must agree to disagree. It is a word so diverse in context that it is seemingly impossible to take it down to a simplified definition. There are some things in life that just aren?t meant to be completely understood, and one?s identity is among these things. Not until a person has a lived out their live could they sit down and tell you how their adventure has shaped them into the person they became in the end.

Chapter:2 2. 1: OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY This term paper would focus on market segmentation, marketing mix, consumer attitudes towards  beverage drinks of Bangladesh (i. e.Mojo and Pepsi). It should be noticed that this report has beenmade in the context of Bangladeshi market and different segmentations and promotional activitesanalyzed in this report are solely based on the Bangladeshi consumers’ perspective . E. g. It willdiffer from country to country. If Mojo becomes multinational and goes to countries like K. S. A,Libya, The U. S. A, The U. K. Then the current activities undertaken by Mojo has to be changed inorder to stay in worldwide competition. Because, cultures vary from country to country. 2. 2: Source of informationDue to limited time maximum data were collected from th einternet, shop to shop survey was done in order to estimate the sales of these beverages. 2. 3: Limitation The major drawback while preparing this report was inadequate time; as a resultthe report lacks some potential information. Moreover, due to class schedule clash in depthresearch on the topic was hampered. Some informations were not disclosed by Mojo dealers(Palashi, Azimpur) as they considered these informations to be confidential. Information on Pepsi was gathered from the internet and local shops as Pepsi is a multinational company.Adequateinformation about Pepsi is not available from the context of Bangladesh. Chapter:3 3. 1: Mojo (Information): Mojo, is a brand of Akij Food and Beverage Ltd. , a sister concern of  Ã‚  prominent group of companies of Bangladesh, Akij Group. In the year 2007 Mojo was themarket challenger in Bangladeshi cola market with a sales of about 52 crores BDT. The brandwas launched in 14th April, 2005 targeting the youth of Bangladesh who like the Bangladeshitrends. All there years, Mojo is doing quite good in the market and competing well with other  Ã‚  brands.Mojo's pricing is it's advantage but it has to improve its image & product quality. Unfortunately, Mojo is lagging behind due to inadequate promotional activities. E. g. Slogan, name's meaning etc. It has also failed to communicate its own positioning the target consumers. However, still now Mojo has the potential to recover its own position (according tosurvey). Consumer behaviour such as perception, attitude, self-orientation and life style, thisreport has found out some drawbacks and recommended some affective strategies to recover  those issues successfully. 3. 2: Market SituationMojo is not far behind in order to anticipating the current market situation. After being inthe introduction stage for a short period of time Mojo is successfully now in the growthstage and doing well for its good eminence and unique marketing effort. With theintention of increasing sa le and obtaining market share Mojo is targeting and creating awell company position into the market. To collect information regarding market, service  performance, competition and distribution Mojo is always developing promotionalstrategies, campaigns and carrying out market surveys. 4 April 2010, Mojo arranged afair and the duration was three days. It was held on field of Pranthapoth. They welcomedthe Bangla year 1417 very nicely. Because who had a bottle of Mojo, then that persongot the entry in the concert without any ticket. 3. 3: Target Market Most of the soft drink companies are now targeting the young generation and indeed this is the besttarget for any soft drink companies. Keeping this thing on mind Mojo has decided to targetespecially the young generation along with the people from various types of socio-economicclasses.Akij Group is now offering extensive distribution channel in order to capture and makesure the proper distribution of Mojo so that young generation can e asily avail it where ever they arein the country. Last time we saw in Mojo advertise that an old couple were sharing a bottle of Mojo. So, they cleared that it is not only a product for the young people but also their target is alsosenior citizens. Though Mojo is hardly preferred by Old aged people. PROFILE OF THE TARGET MARKET Cola drinks usually follow an undifferentiated marketing strategy to target their consumer.Keeping this fact in mind, we conducted a sample survey by selecting random sample fromdifferent places. The following discussion will attempt to analyze the profile of the target market  based on the sample group. 3. 4: Demographic Factors Age Age is the major determinants in targeting the consumers. MOJO reflects the Bangladeshi cultureand it represents youth. From our survey, we have found that MOJO is most preferred in the agegroup between 20-25 years (85% of 100). Moreover, the least MOJO preference comes fromtwo age groups: 25-35 years and 35-45 years, about 1%. SexBeverage is used for thirst-quenching purpose and this product is gender neutral, meaning there isno such kind of obligation to consume the product for male or female. However, from our surveyoutcome, we have found that 71% of the consumers are male and 29% are female from 100. Allthe respondents are from urban location. MARKETING MIX: 4P’S OF MOJO5. 1 Product The product MOJO cola has come with the following variations in the market- †¢ 250 ml bottle †¢ 500 ml bottle †¢ 1000 ml or 1 liter bottle †¢ 150 ml can The MOJO Cola has been made with a proper technology. So there is no chance to occur  fluctuation in taste. The cola drinks contain a very strong taste which can compete with the marketleader Coca- Cola and RC cola. Other Factors Meaning of MOJO Meaning of MOJO is the idea or feeling the respondent have instantly after hearing the name or  analyzing it. To 60% respondents, MOJO means fun or enjoyment. To 14% it means nothing. Inaddition, other 26% varies within music or art, sports, thirst passion etc. Competition Soft drink market always offer high level of competition among companies. Because, soft drink is a fast moving consumer good and its demand always fluctuate based onseveral reasons (E. . Taste, weather conditions, etc. ). It included the degree of competition andintensity of competition. So in that case both the degree and intensity of competition are very highfor Mojo. Because the market it was operating was already touched by big companies such asCoke, Pepsi, Royal Crown Cola. Surprisingly, these giant companies are considering Mojo, as aravenous competitor in the market. So it’s a good news for Mojo that competitors like â€Å" Coca Cola, Pepsi are thinking about Mojo consciously. It is because Mojo has already grabbed good portionof Bangladeshi beverage market share.Mojo believes that they have the strong distribution power, creative marketers, financial power and quality to grab competitions market s hare as well asincrease their own selling. Before preparing the term paper we made a brief market survey and we saw that in every popular market of Dhaka city, wholesalers are very active and demand is veryhigh. Distribution The strongest point of MOJO is their intensive distribution channel. They make this thing  possible because Akij Group of industries especially their beverage sector has a profoundlogistic and supply chain management system. So they can easily go to door to door of  their target consumers. They believe that delivering products to consumer hands is notsufficient or convenient enough that is why for near future betterment they are trying todevelop their distribution channel in such manner that they can easily make their  Ã‚  potential customer in to actual customer. And we must say that the dealer of a particular  territory is really expert and the do their job on the time. Objecetives & Issues The promotional campaign can undertake 3 types of objectives:1. To inform,2. To persuade3. To remind. In the case of Mojo, the campaign will basically focus on persuasion, since MOJOis in maturity stage of its life cycle and will try to spread out its current perception in urbanyouthful lives. The advertising objective for MOJO is to persuade the target audience to make a  purchase and to obtain 8% increase in sales. Now a day, Mojo is not a new product. And for thatreason, previously the company’s target was to make positioning about Mojo because it was a new  product and please try it. But now Mojo is in growth stage; so it is trying to maximize the marketshare and retaining the market share is also important hereAdvertising Strategy Advertising is a challenging factor for Akij Group’s Mojo. As the sales of Mojo highly relies onadvertising. It has to be done in such a way which is convincing, attractive to people, which willrun on people’s mind 24/7. Developing an effective advertising and promotional campaign mustsele ct the right spokesperson to deliver a convincing message and the appropriate channels or  media. As part of the development of the advertising strategy of Mojo, all the advertisingcampaigns will try to communicate the same message to meet the advertising objective as set anddiscussed previously. Their main logan is â€Å"Mojo Ontor e Ontor e† and for that reason they alwaystry to make every ad including this slogan. Stimulus Characteristics Logo The logo of MOJO is attractive and representing the youth although they did not forgot about theaged people. Therefore, this helps them to get a good result. Soul feeling All the multinational soft drink companies-showing advertisements are made abroad. In thiscase, MOJO cola differentiated themselves. They are making the ads in our country, as they wantto be the cult brand. As they are, doing this so people can feel that it is our cola and I am buyingmy soft drink that in terms help them to feel good. Therefore, people have a soft corner for them intheir mind. Packaging Packaging also helps in the perception process. Attractive package can grab people’s attention. MOJO cola know this and they are concentrating on it. The two most critical job of packaging are: Capture Attention The colorful packaging catches the attention instantly. People like colorful things and they go for  colorful things. That is why within a short time MOJO cola got the attention of the target aspect. Convey Meaning The colorful packaging conveys the meaning that MOJO is a youthful product.Mixing up the  brand with colors, which have a meaning, is sensible. That gives people meaning and they went for  it. CONSUMERS’ LEARNING & MOJO Learning is any change in the content or organization of long- term memory and/or behavior. Learning about soft drinks is a low- involvement learning situation. Consumer behavior is largelylearned behavior. Learning about MOJO Cola is for the most part low involvement learningstate of affa irs. Controls Just like all other companies Mojo is also very much concern about controlling their  monetary and operating cost. That is why every month Mojo conduct Quality assurancesurvey, Sales figure monitoring, Feedback from Retailers and Sales force not only bytheir employees but also by students from different universities by offering exclusiveincentives and gift items. They evaluate their inventory, quality, acceptance of Mojo fromdifferent perspectives. By keep checking these things Mojo can stay in the market by notonly minimizing their cost and expense by also maximizing their revenue and profits. Weknow its very much time consuming and expense become high, but to know the currentsituation the company must do it.Social responsibilities Akij group of industries not only concern about increasing their sales, capture market share andgaining profit but also concern to do something for the social betterment. Through out their  campaign Mojo has always been the pioneer in or der to come across to help old, orphanage andhomeless street children. The Group has been running a considerable orphanage free of charge indistrict town. The Group has also acquired a modern mother & children hospital previously owned  by Save the Children (UK). The hospital is being operated as a non-profitable concern by Ad-DinWelfare Trust. Pricing policy:The pricing policy of Mojo has been done very carefully. Mojo has manycompetitors (e. g. Coca Cola, Pepsi) in the market. Compared to them Mojo has set pricereasonably. The pricing of Mojo is discussed below: ? Litre ———- Tk 14/- ? Litre ———- Tk 25/-[pic] 1 Litre ———- Tk 45/- 2 Litre ———- Tk 75/- Chapter:4 4. 1: Pepsi (Information): Pepsi was first introduced as â€Å"Brad's Drink† in New Bern, North Carolinain 1898 by Caleb Bradham, who made it at his home where the drink was sold. It was later namedPepsi Cola, possibly due to the dige stive enzyme pepsin and kola nuts used in the recipe.Bradhams ought to create a fountain drink that was delicious and would aid in digestion and boost energy. In 1903, Bradham moved the bottling of Pepsi-Cola from his drugstore to a rented warehouse. That year, Bradham sold 7,968 gallons of syrup. The next year, Pepsi was sold in six-ouncebottles, and sales increased to 19,848 gallons. In 1909, automobile race pioneer Barney Oldfieldwas the first celebrity to endorse Pepsi-Cola, describing it as â€Å"A bully drink†¦ refreshing, invigorating, a fine bracer before a race. † The advertising theme â€Å"Delicious and Healthful† wasthen used over the next two decades. In 1926, Pepsi received its first logo redesign since theoriginal design of 1905. In 1929, the logo was changed again. In 1931, at the depth of the Great Depression, the Pepsi-Cola Company entered bankruptcy – inlarge part due to financial losses incurred by speculating on wildly fluctuating sugar p rices as aresult of World War I. Assets were sold and Roy C. Megargel bought the Pepsi trademark. Eightyears later, the company went bankrupt again. Pepsi's assets were then purchased by Charles Guth, the President of Loft Inc. Loft was a candy manufacturer with retail stores that contained sodafountains. He sought to replace Coca-Cola at his stores' fountains after Coke refused to give him adiscount on syrup. Guth then had Loft's chemists reformulate the Pepsi-Cola syrup formula. On three separate occasions between 1922 and 1933, the Coca-Cola Company was offered theopportunity to purchase the Pepsi-Cola company and it declined on each occasion. Ingredients: In the United States, Pepsi is made with carbonated water, high fructose corn syrup, caramel color, sugar, Phosphoric acid, caffeine, citric acid and natural flavors. A can of Pepsi (12 flounces) has 41 grams of carbohydrates (all from sugar), 30 mg of odium, 0 grams of fat, 0 gramsof protein, 38 mg of caffeine and 150 calories. T he caffeine-free Pepsi-Cola contains the sameingredients but without the caffeine. The original Pepsi-Cola recipe was available from documents filed with the court at the time thatthe Pepsi-Cola Company went bankrupt in 1929. The original formula contained neither cola nor  caffeine. 4. 2: Market Situation Pepsi Cola is a reknowned brand all over the world. Its demand is increasing each year. Pepsi is incompetition in Bangladesh for many years. Its major competitiors are Coca Cola, RC Cola andnow Mojo is progressing in competition. The main of Pepsi just like any other beverage companyis to make supernormal profit by increasing sales. Not only that, Pepsi carries out promotionalactivities throughout the year. â€Å"Transcom Beverages Ltd (TBL), the franchisee of PepsiCo International, has won the â€Å"Bottler of  the Year Award† for 2009 in PepsiCo International Annual Conference in recognition of itsoutstanding business results. Litre ———- Tk 18/- ?Litre ———- Tk 30/ 1 Litre ———- Tk 55/ 2 Litre ———- Tk 90/- Product differentiation In Bangladesh Pepsi offers product differentiation in comparison to Mojo cola by offeringPepsi Diet in the market. From this sid e Mojo is a little weak because these days most people arehealth conscious, diabetes patients, etc. They prefer Pepsi Diet which does not contain sugar. Pepsi Diet is available in two sizes. Litre ———- Tk 30/- 1 Litre ———- Tk 55/- Though Pepsi’s offering differentiation by offering Pepsi Diet it is not charging premium price. The price of Pepsi Diet is same as Pepsi Cola Thus, Pepsi is having competitive advantage over Akij’s Mojo Cola. Swot Analysis: Mojo Cola: †¢Strengths: Brand image : Akij group is already a established brand name. So there already exists astrong brand image of the company. So if we launch any product under this brand name then itautomatically accept by the consumers. Quality : Most of their raw materials come from various foreign countries. The quality is verystrictly controlled. At every stage, non standard products are rejected. So we can say that howwell they are aware about their products quality. Strong distribution network   : Akij group has a strong distribution network and this isone of the most strongest competitive advantages for them. They make product available all over  the country through their strong distribution channel of retailers and whole sellers. †¢Weakness: The weakest point of akij group is that if any product sells fall due to poor quality then it willalso affect the other products of other brands. Opportunity: Increasing demand: As people are engaging more in taking beverage product, the demand isincreasing day by day for this kind of product category. †¢Threat: Akij group have a number of competitors especially under Akij Food & Beverage Ltd such asPran juice, Shezan juice, Acme juice. This competition is very high and works as a threat for AkijFood & Beverage Ltd. Pepsi: The strengths, the weaknesses, the opportunities and the threats of Pepsi. 1. The advantages of Pepsi-Cola1) Firstly, Pepsi has stayed in this market for almost one centur y.So they are so experienced andstationed in people's mind deeply. Now no one doesn't know the brand Pepsi-Cola Whenever thename Pepsi is heard, people will conjure up the image of fresh and cool drink .2) Secondly, Pepsi-Cola is not only in high quality, cool and fresh but also have a competitive  price. 3) Thirdly. Pepsi is such an experienced powerful global company, Which has a basic of a greatfund. So it has the ability to place an idle sum of money to the promotion. We can see that theadvertisement of Pepsi-Cola is so attractive. It also invited the top famous people to advertise for  it. ) Pepsi also compares with the competitors and find their disadvantages to update its own quality, flavor and also package promptly in order to satisfy the consumers' need. This is the biggestadvantage of Pepsi company. It is the most popular one. Pepsi company also produce the Diet-Cola to meet the people whomore concern their health. And it just changes the design of the package of Pepsi -Cola. 2. The disadvantages of Pepsi-ColaBut we cannot consider things just on one side. Still there are some disadvantages existing inPepsi-Cola . A survey suggests that 32% people prefer the package of Pepsi-Cola.So the design of  Pepsi-Cola's package is not as attractive as Coca-cola. It still needs to be improved. We suggestthat the package needs to be designed more colorful to attract people's attention. 3. Although in the cola market there are many competitors, Pepsi still has the opportunity toenlarge its market share because the cola in the market is quite monotonic. Most of the end user isyoung people. There are still some people who do not like the taste of the cola. So we can try to provide some other taste of cola such as adding some lemon juice. We can change the flavor inorder to meet different taste of different people. . As to the threats, all of us know that Pepsi-Cola and Coca-Cola have had the competition for  about 80 years. Although Pepsi-Cola have won sever al times during this competition, the marketshare of Pepsi-cola is a little bit smaller than Coca-Cola. Besides, there are many other competitorslike Mojo. In Mojo’s advertisement we can see the reflection of our culture. It is well known thatBangladesh is a patriotic nation. So these words can really catch Bangladeshi people's heart. Andthese local cola's flavor is more suitable for Bangladeshis. So it cannot be ignored. Recommendation: Mojo:After getting informations from the internet and local shops. It seems that Mojo has certainlackings. Mojo is local brand so its going to be hard for Mojo to stay in competition with Pepsi. Mojo can provide offers like â€Å"buy one get one free†, â€Å"win a car†, coupons, etc. All these activitieswill rise interests in people to consume more Mojo in order to get something. By offering such  promotions, Mojo may be able to give tough competitions to Pepsi. Mojo can persuade people via advertising. E. g. It can convey mes sages that â€Å"Mojo is BangladeshiDrink, We Bangladeshis drink our drinks†.Not only that, motivating employees will help Akij Beverages to reach its peak. E. g. Employeescan be given fringe benefits, promotions, monthly free medical check-up, etc. 24 SUGGESTIVE PROMOTIONAL TOOLS Billboards MOJO cola must concentrate on billboard advertising, for this at first they have to increase thenumber of billboards around the country. They have to create billboards with catchy look so that itcan grab the attention of the target aspect. They must make colorful and relevant billboards so that  people can find out what they want to tell them.At last, they have to place the billboards in theright place so that target aspect can have their full concentrate in it. Paper Ads The number of paper ads should have to be increased. Otherwise, they cannot make mass peopleaware about their product. It should also contain high imagery, relevant with product MOJO cola. TVCs The frequencies of the T V ads have to be increased. People who watch TV regularly are seekingfor innovative things made by the marketers. They pretty much bored with the traditional ads. So if  MOJO cola bring new thing with their ads them it will be a turning point for their sale.People willget more interest in their product and as a result, they can be the loyal customer of this product. SoTV ads should be brought with a new format, with more new things so that it can catch the targetaspect with the new ones. Sponsorship Till now MOJO cola make sponsorship of few events like concerts, â€Å"nabanno utsav, banglanoboborsho, etc†. they should include cyber cafe, canteens of university, fast food shop and other  Ã‚  places where people goes frequently. By doing so they can be with the target audience and we illfind more aware people. Sales PromotionThey should in for massive sales promotion to attract people from other drinks Pepsi: 1) Pepsi-Cola should improve the design of the package first. As it is advertised as† the choice of  new generation†, the design must be looked young and fresh. So the color should be more sharpand attractive. 2) As the flavor and ingredients of cola in the market are similar and the most active consumer isthe young people, we can diversify the Pepsi production to meet the different need of theconsumers. That is customer-orientated. 3) Besides the Diet cola for the health conscious people, we can have many other new choices. For  example, we can create a new kind of cola more suitable for children. Maybe we can add theVitamins or some nutritious element that are necessary to children. Or we can create a new flavor  like mint-cola. 4) However, pricing should not be reduced to an extent where initial investment cannot berecovered. So, pricing & finance has to be done carefully. Conclusion Mojo People prefer MOJO’s pricing but it has to improve its image in status and quality issues. Unfortunately, MOJO is lagging behind due to inadequate communication of its brand elementslike slogan, name’s meaning etc.It has also failed to communicate its own positioning to the targetconsumers. However, still now MOJO has the chance to recover its own position because about70% of the target customers (according to the survey result) are potential and have not constructedtheir belief structure for MOJO. For some particular aspects of consumer behavior such as  perception, attitude, self-orientation and life style etc, those recommended strategies provided withthe report will be supportive to recover those issues successfully if MOJO can apply thosesuggestive marketing tools. 6 Pepsi Being in such a tense competition with other beverages, Pepsi-Cola should not take the direct andtough attack upon any of them. The best wad is to keep a peaceful relationship with it and alwayscompare with others, We should find their disadvantages and show our advantages on this aspect. Then by and by, the people would think ou rs is better Of course the most important rule is toimprove the product, lower the price in comparison to other competitors to meet the consumers.

Business and Financial Environment Part 1(a) Demand is the capacity that customer are capable and willing to buy at each reasonable price. Severely speaking this definition depicts effective demand, as resist to latent demand when a customer is incapable to fulfill their demand, no matter it is because of be short of knowledge on the availability of a goods or because of lack of money (Grant 2000). Or Effective demand is the ability to pay for goods and services. Don’t waste time! Our writers will create an original "Business and Financial Environment Assignment" essay for you Create order Since demand is based on human decision many factor can influence demand. One may categorize these factors into 2 sets. One set influences the position of the demand curve as a whole while the other set of factors influences the gradient, also known as the Price Elasticity of Demand, or PED for short. Diagram: Demand curve D1 shifts to new position of D2. Factors influencing the position of the demand curve influence the whole position of the demand curve on the price towards quantity graph. Thus variation one or more of the elements will result in the shift of the demand curve to the left or right. There are some factors that influencing the position of the demand curve (Begg 2003). One of the factors is taste. Taste may vary due to custom, fashion or favor. For example when there has increase in popularity of video games has encouraged the raise in demand for games consoles. The next factor is related goods. Related goods can be categorised into substitute goods an d complementary goods. Variation in demand, and thus price, of substitute goods would frequently have the inverse effect on the demand of a good. For example the low price of Chinese vacuum cup has cut down the demand for vacuum cup made in the West. Complementary goods demand change lead to the exactly inverse effect compared to demand variation of substitute goods. If the price of complementary good falls then the demand for a good, which the complementary good complements, will rise, is then shift to the left. For example a significant falls in oil prices may lead to rise in petrol driven vehicles. Income is the following factor. The more money the customer has to spend the more likely the consumer is to spend that money. Many factors influence disposable income. For example, interest rates or job opportunities. It is considerable to know that certain low cost goods, like chewing gum for example, are not involved by variation in income compared with other goods, like houses, a re. Part 1(b) Price elasticity of demand measures the responsiveness of demand to changes in price for a particular good. Demand is said to be elastic when the percentage change in price bring about a more proportionate change in the quantity demanded. And so, the demand for the companyà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s package holidays is elastic as the value is greater than one which is 1.8. The degree to which the quantity demanded for a good change in response to a change in price can be influenced by a number of factors. Factors include the number of close substitutes and whether the good or service is a necessity or luxury. In this case, it is luxury. Income elasticity of demand indicates the measure of responsiveness of a change in the quantity demanded to changes in the incomes of the consumers. Income elasticity of demand is an economics statement that mention to the responsiveness of the quantity demanded for some of the good in response to alter in the publicà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ s incomes. The income elasticity of demand for the companyà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s package holidays has a value of 2.5 which is positive income elasticity. Income elasticity for the service is said to be positive when a rise in income brings to an increase in the quantity demanded for the goods. During the time of rising incomes, the quantity demanded for luxury goods incline to raise at a higher proportion than the quantity demanded for necessity. The quantity demanded for luxury products is very responsive to the changes in incomes. The managers of Flying Delights Limited are suggested to lower the price of the package holidays in order to attract more customers. Part 2 The equilibrium price and quantity of a good or service can be determined by superimposing the supply curve on the demand curve. The equilibrium price can be illustrated as the price at which the quantity demanded is equal to the quantity supplied. From the strength of demand and supply process on the price mec hanism, equilibrium price can be accomplished. It is the position at which quantity demanded and quantity supplied is equal. Market equilibrium, for example, mentions to a term where a market price is create by competition such that the amount of goods or services look for by buyer is equal to the total of goods or services produced by sellers. This price is usually known as theequilibrium price. In the graph below the point at which the demand curve connects the supply curve is theequilibrium price. Equilibrium is à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‹Å"self rightingà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢. It means that if we try to move away from the equilibrium situation it will revert back to its original position, if there is no external disturbance. Figure below explains the concept. In this diagram the equilibrium price is P* and the quantity supplied Qe. However, the prices have been increased to P2. If the price rises it would bring about more suppliers to enter the market and supply rising to Qs. Meanwhile, a rise in price to P1 will bring about a decrease in demand according to the law of demand. This will establish anexcess supply circumstances. At this moment, the suppliers would realised it troublesome to sell their goods and they will have to lower their price to attract more customer. This will proceed till the price achieves its initial amount which is P*. Therefore the circumstance is à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‹Å"self rightingà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ if the prices are increased without affect by any external factor. It can be see that the prices have been decreased from P* to P1. This leads to an decrease in supply from Q* to Qs. As the prices decrease from P* to P1, people can afford to buy more of that good and demand rise from Q* to Qd. Again anexcess dem andstatus is established. In order to obtain the most out of this status the suppliers will begin rising their price. Meanwhile, demand will begin decreasing as the prices rise. This will be goes on till the prices settle at equilibrium price i.e. Pe. Therefore, it can be said that equilibrium isà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‹Å"self-rightingà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ Part 3(a) Interest rate standards are an element of the supply and demand of loan: A raise in the demand for credit will increase interest rates, while a fall in the demand for credit will reduce them. In turn, a raise in the supply of credit will decrease the interest rates while a fall in the supply of credit will increase them. The supply of credit is raised by a raise in the measure of money made accessible to borrower. For an example, when somebody opens a bank account, it is practically lending money to the bank. Relying on the type of account you open, the bank may do some money invested activities. A certificate of depositwould give a higher interest rate than a checking account, in which may have the capability to access the funds at any possible while. And so, the bank may lend out the money to other customers. There will be more credit available in the economy as the bank can lend more. In other words, if the supply of credit rises, the interest falls. Credit available in the econom y is reduced as lenders determine to stay the re-payment of their credits. For example, when determine to delaypaying the current months credit card billuntil next month or later, it is not only raising the measure of interest that have to pay, while also reducing the measure of credit available in the market. And so, there will be increasing the interest rates in the economy. Inflation would also influence interest rate standards. The interest rates will be raise more as the higher in the inflation rate. It takes place as lenders would demand higher interest rates as compensation for the falls in purchasing strength of the money they would be pay back in the future. The government has a voice on how interest rates are influenced. Thefederal funds rate, or the rate that organisations charge each other for mightly short-term loans, influence the interest rate that bank fix on the money they lend. The rate then in the end shed down into other short-term lending rate. When the governme nt acquires even more securities, banks are infused with more money than they may make use for lending, and so the interest rate falls. When the government sells security, money from the banks is flow out for the business deal, render less funds at the banks disposal for lending, compelling an increase in interest rates. Part 3(b) (i) The influence of an increase in the interest rates is to reduce the present discounted value (PDV) of peoples intended future consumption. It means that, higher interest rates indicate the lesser money are needed to fund a particular measure of future consumption. Intended future consumption is then less expensive, causing people better off in a lifetime sense, and lead people to spend more these days. But, since the interest rate decided the measure of money practically in circulation, a higher interest rate may also reduce the consumption, where might be influence all elements of GDP. (ii)Investment is inversely corresponded to interest rate, which are the price of borrowing and the repay to lending. There have few impact of a change to the rate of interest. That is, if interest rates go up, the opportunity cost of investment go up too. In other words, an increase in interest rates also increases the return on funds deposited in an interest-bearing account, wh ich lower the attractiveness of investment corresponding to lending. Therefore, investment resolutions may be put off until interest rates back to lower stage. Thus, if interest rates rise, companies can expect that consumers would lower their spending, and the interest of investing will be reduced. Investing to extend need that consumers at least keep their current spending. Therefore, an anticipated falls is likely to obstruct corporation from investing and compel them to delay their investment plans. (iii)Interest rates, inflation and exchange rates are all particularly correlative. By controlling interest rates, central banksimpose influence on exchange rates, and changing interest rates influence currency values. Higher interest rates provide lender in an economy a higher return comparative to other state. Consequently, higher interest rates attract foreign capital and lead to the exchange rate to increase. The impact of higher interest rates is mitigated, however, if additio nal elements help to push the currency down. The inverse relationship exists for lower interest rates tend to reduce exchange rates. Part 4(a) The main reason for regulation of banking is depositor protection. Pressure for this regulation take place as the public started doing financial transactions via banks, and as business and individual started holding a major part of their funds in banks. Banking proposes an amount of distinct issues for consumers and creditors (Ogren 2011). Many bank clients take a bank mostly while writing checks and conducting other financial transactions. In order to do this, they have to keep a deposit account. As a result, bank customers take the role of bank creditors and do linked with the wealth of their bank (Spong 2000). This differs with most of the other businesses, where customers just pay for goods or services and not ever become creditors of the corporation. Part 4(b) It can be disputed that regulation refrains innovation and growth. This hurt growth and cut down efforts by banks to engage in better profit making scheme.Others argue that regulation is essential to avoid abusive practices and assure equitable access for everyone. This makes increased occasion for lending to poor and underserved society. Both sides have effective arguments to this question. The test of whether bank regulation is essential or needed is in how well the economy goes through. It is possible to both over-regulate and under-regulate banks.Congress may set in place too various banking regulations that raise administrative expense for banks and strengthen profitability, causing banks to break down. The regulator may be very loose in their oversight tasks and miss to carry out primary provision of the banking law. Part 4(c) (i)Risk asset normally mentions to assets which have a major degree of price volatility, such as equity, commodity, high-yield bonds, real estate and currency. Especially in the banking circumstance, risk asset consult to an asset owned by a financial organisation whose value can undulate by the variation in interest rates, re-payment risk, credit quality and more. The term can also mention to equity capital in a financially extended or nearly-bankrupt corporations, as the shareholdersà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ claim will scale under those of the companyà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s bondholders and other lender. (ii) The risk is related with the in advance unscheduled return of primary on a fixed-income protection. Certain fixed-income securities, such as mortgage-backed securities, have embeds call options that may be performed by the issuer. The yield-to-maturity of such securities cannot be known for some at the time of buying from the cash flows are not known about. When principal is return in advance, the coming interest payment would not be paid on that section of the principal. If the bond was bought at a premium the bonds yield would be less than what was predicted at the time of buying. For a contract with an embed call option, the more a contractà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s interest rate corresponding to current interest rate, the more the prepayment risk. For instance, in a mortgage-backed security, the more the interest rate respective to present interest rate, the more the possibility that the relating mortgage would be refinanced. Besides to being so correlative with decreasing interest r ate, mortgage prepayment are extremely correlate with rising home prices, as rising home price lead incentives for borrower to swap up in home or else make use of cash-out refinances, all leading to mortgage prepayment. (iii) The risk begins from the short of marketability of an investment that cannot be bought or sold immediately enough to avoid or minimize a loss. Liquidity risk is normally reported in extraordinary wide bid-ask spreads or large price movements. The regulation of thumb is which that the smaller the measure of the securities, the greater the liquidity risk.Even though liquidity risk is mostly correlative with micro-cap and small-cap stock or security, it may sometimes influence even the biggest stocks in time of climacteric. The consequence of the 9/11 assaults and the 2007-2008 global credit crisis are two comparatively recent cases of times while liquidity risk rose to unusual high standards. Raising liquidity risk regularly turn into a self-fulfilling prophecy, since panicky investors attempt to offer for sale their holdings at any value, result in widening bid-ask disseminate and large value denies, which further devote to market liquidity.
